Nashik logs into its first IT Park as Vascon’s V-Tech opens

Nashik has joined the ranks of Indian cities having state-of-the-art IT Parks, with the opening of V-Tech, the IT Park and commercial complex developed and constructed by Vascon Engineers Ltd. WNS, the global BPO leader, has already moved in as V-Tech’s first occupant.

Announcing this at a press conference here today, R Vasudevan, Managing Director, Vascon Engineers expressed happiness at being the first to set up an IT Park in Nashik. “With Pune and Mumbai more or less saturated, the next and nearest option for the IT industry is Nashik. What makes it more attractive is the ready availability of a young talent pool thanks to the many educational institutions,” he noted.

The Rs.100 cr V-Tech project offers 3.5 lakh sq. ft. built-up area in a 7-acre plot at Indiranagar, close to Mumbai Naka.

According to the latest guidelines issued by the Maharashtra government for IT and ITeS projects, 50 percent of an IT Park can be leased out to non-IT users like insurance, banking, financial services and general commercial users.

According to Roopa Mudliar, Asst. Vice President, Marketing & Business Development, “V-Tech has a variety of sizes on offer, right from 26,000 sq.ft. floor plate area for large offices to 1000 sq. ft. for individual shops. Going by the enquiries we have been receiving, in addition to the IT majors, we are likely to have an interesting mix of large showrooms, offices and small niche shops.”

Nashik is already a favourite of tourists thanks to its salubrious climate, vineyards and religious centres. With the new multiple-lane Mumbai-Agra highway cutting down travel time between the metro and Nashik to 3 hours, the demand for residential and commercial property in Nashik is expected to shoot up.

Nashik is already home to many international brands right from fast food to clothes. What was missing so far was an address that would permit leisurely shopping, easy access and ample parking worries.

“Keeping in mind the requirements of the young IT professionals, we have already planned smaller apartments in the second phase of Vista, a Vascon residential project, within walking distance from V-Tech,” Vasudevan revealed. “We pioneered the walk-to-work concept in Pune at Marigold in Kalyaninagar. We hope to repeat that success in Nashik with V-Tech and Vista,” he added.

V-Tech is a Joint Venture project between Vascon Engineers & Sankhlecha Constructions from Nashik.
