India v New Zealand, World T20
The Jinx continues: India lost against New Zealand for the 5th consecutive time in the ICC T20 history. The Kiwi’s restricted India to a mere 79 runs, which is the second lowest score by the Indian team in its T20 history.
New Zealand‘s score of 126 was well defended by their spinners. The spin attack took a total of 9 wickets which lead to the Indian batting collapse. Young Mitchell Santner was the Man of the Match for picking up 4 wickets and just giving away 11 runs. Credit has to be given to Kane Williamson for taking an unorthodox decision of playing with 3 spinners. Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni were the only two players who were looking to get some runs until their fall.
Alot of questions will now be raised about India’s strength against spin bowling and being the favourites for the tournament, but we still believe India could come back with a strong performance against the Pakistani team in their next match on 19th March.
