Chef M U Kasture, Executive Chef at The Ashok, New Delhi won the coveted National Tourism Award under the category of “Best Chef of India- 4 to 5 Star Deluxe, Heritage Classic and Heritage Grand category”.
The Award is hailed as one of the highest honors in the tourism industry. The National Tourism Awards felicitate the Indian tourism and travel industry and the State Governments and Union Territory Administrations for their outstanding contribution in the field of tourism.
Chef Kasture is a member of the culinary brigade at The Ashok. His outstanding career spanning three decades with many culinary achievements and professional accomplishments includes eight years as the Executive Chef to the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan. As a member of the exclusive ‘Club des Chefs des Chefs’ he has met and prepared Indian delicacies for world leaders like the US President Barack Obama, UN General Secretary Ban-ki-moon and Queen Elizabeth.
Incidentally, it was a double grace.
