Unique Ganesh Utsav Celebrations at Pune’s Punyadham Ashram

The Pune based  Vishwa Jagriti Mission Trust (VJMT) is planning to celebrate Ganesh Utsav with great zeal with special emphasis on the saints and warriors of Maharashtra. Its major attractions will include the Sant Gnaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Maharaj stalls near the larger-than-life Ganpati idol adjacent to the entrance of the Ashram.

“The highlight of the Pune’s Punyadham Ashram will be an exhibition titled ‘Homage to Warriors’ in the state of art Convention Hall of the Ashram. An effort is being made to recreate the atmosphere prevailing at the time of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and visitors will get to view hundreds of authentic artefacts and weaponry and equipment of Shivaji’s times. This precious collection belongs to Maharashtra Bhushan Shiv Shahir Babasaheb Purandare. Also on display will be the photographs of Param Veer Chakra and Ashoka Chakra winners from Maharashtra”, says Maa Krishna Kashyap, Chairperson, Punya Dham Ashram.

Vishwa Jagriti Mission Trust (VJMT) Pune is a spiritual, welfare and charitable trust which has its Punya Dham Ashram at Pisoli, in Pune. It boasts of the Siddeshwar Mahadeo Mandir and the finest statues of the Shiv Parivar and Lord Ganesh in Pune.

 Mahashivratri and Ganesh Utsav are the two festivals celebrated with gaiety and fervor every year in Punya Dham Ashram. Thousands of people visit the Ashram to offer prayers and seek the blessings of the Gods on these occasions.

The exhibition shall be open from 5th Sep 2016 to 15th Sep 2016 from 9 am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening.

The  festivities are open to the public. Admission is free.
