The Pune based organisation ‘Salam Pune’ has appealed to Hon. Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshari to give the legendary actor, producer and director Mahesh Kothare a chance to become a governor-appointed member of the legislative council. The President of the organisation Sharad Lonkar and Chairman Subhashchandra Jadhav have sent a letter to the Hon. Governor in this regard.
Starting his career as a child artist in 1968, Mahesh Kothare is fondly remembered for the heart-tugging song, ‘Tu kitni acchi hai, pyari pyari hai, O Maa’ from the popular movie ‘Raja Aur Rank’. Since then, his journey in the film industry has been celebrated many times. Winner of 2 times FilmFare awards, 8 times winner of Maharashtra Government awards, 3 times Salam Pune award winner, are just some of the accolades he has received.
Mahesh Kothare has been instrumental in getting several stars fame and recognition, through his movies and television series. Many of them were applauded by entire Maharashtra. Kothare’s entire family is working in the film industry, and they have made a connection with every household who avidly watch them in films and TV serials.
