To turn an idea into reality is a huge step and always the most difficult. This year, students of the St Pauls Institute of Communication Education (SPICE) have taken up the challenge of creating a media festival-Mediathon, being held on February 3rd and 4th. Having started from scratch, the students have left no stone unturned to ensure that their maiden venture turns out to be a great success.
Preparations for the festival began as early as November end last year, to ensure there would be nothing left when the day arrives. Mediathon aims to be a platform for an interaction between students interested in pursuing careers in media and those who are the best in the business. With an array of workshops and events, the fest is surely going to be exciting! From workshops conducted by Rajeev Masand & Josy Paul to events like Treasure Hunt and Short Film Making, students have a variety of options to choose from, all under one roof.
Staying late after college hours, eating at odd times and slogging to finish never-ending work on time, that is how students have been preparing for the festival. Mediathon is largely media-centric but, to add a fun factor it has- Artemis and Mini Militia. These games will test the skills of the best of gaming nerds. Galactic Rink Football is another event for all the football crazy participants.
It’s time to pull up your socks, because Mediathon is ready to arrive with a bang.
