Pets owners are going to finally breathe a sign of relief at the John F Kennedy (JFK) Airport in New York City. The airport has introduced a pet relief area or pet bathrooms for passengers travelling with their pets.’Pet relief facilities’ will allow travellers to let their pets go to the bathroom without having to leave the airport and go through security a second time.
Susana Cunha, vice president of the management company that operates the terminal said, “We had seen an increase of passengers traveling with pets and we decided to do it sooner rather than later,”.
The relief area for pets would be placed between the men’s and women’s washrooms with a paw print to denote it’s for your pet. The 70 -square-foot bathroom has a few green turfs, a fire hydrant, a dispenser of plastic bags and a hose pipe.
According to a federal regulation, all airports in the US serving more than 10,000 passengers are to have pet relief facilities by August.
